6 weeks old ....

So we have just been so happy to have a now healthy and sweet little boy....it is great taking care of this little squirt even though he does test our patience sometimes!!!
He's like Jake in the way that Jake makes me so happy but also makes me so frustrated sometimes!! I couldn't live without my amazing boys!!!


And here they are just hanging out.....hmmmm...they are both giving me the same look, already so much alike!!

In case you were wondering, that is Jake's ginormous hand!!!


So I have given up on putting the cover on the changing pad....as you can see here....it is still MIA by choice. He pees, poops or spits up all over the thing like every freaking day, that is a lot of washing.....we might bring it back soon we will see!!

Lincoln's home at last!!

So we got to come home last Wednesday, Jake's birthday was Thursday, to it was the perfect present for his special day!!! We are so glad to be home and actually hold Lincoln, and do the things parents do!!! It felt kind of unreal that we had a little one, it felt like Primary Children's had a baby....not us!!

Look!!! No tubes and IV's!!!! Doesn't he just look so relaxed and chill, who wouldn't be after being poked and bugged in a hospital for 12 days!! He's just the sweetest little guy, he really has such a good temperament. And he sleeps pretty well too, I was terrified that I would just want to pull my hair out because of lack of sleep, but not so far....hopefully this pattern continues!!

LINCOLN DECIDES........

Well as most of you know....Lincoln decided he wanted to come join our fam June 4th. Yes, he was a little early, but still weighed 7 lbs 4 oz!!!! I went to my doctor's appointment on the 3rd at 9:30am, the first one the doctor would check if I was starting to dilate. I was emotionally prepared for the doc to tell me nothing was happening and that I would probably be late. I have been stressing about having an enormous baby.....I mean come on, look at his dad...can you blame me!!! So I was SHOCKED when the doc said I was dilated to a 4 1/2 and in the early stages of labor!! I had felt like crap that day and I guess I was contracting, but very irregular so I was sent home and told to come in if it got any worse. So we went in that night around midnight and I was still at a 4 1/2!!! I was like come on......I have pretty much had an emotional high knowing that my sweet baby could be here in a matter of days, not 2 weeks. I was still, however, VERY scared and just unprepared for this news!! Anyway, long story short: Got my epidural around 5:00 am, had my water broken at 7:30 am, was in labor at the hospital for a total of about 12 hours, I pushed for about 15 minutes and he was here at 11:00 am on the 4th!!! Pretty crazy!!

We are so excited that he is here and I guess he really does do what he wants already!!! However, he has had a little trouble since he came to us. He wasn't breathing like he should and stopped taking his own breaths for a couple of seconds and had to be taken to the NICU about 30 minutes after birth. Luckily, we did get to hold him for a couple of minutes before he was taken to the NICU. X-rays and tests at Logan showed that he has pneumonia and his lungs were, of course, having a hard time getting the required breaths and keeping pressure. While he was in Logan, he wasn't improving so after 3 days he had to be life flighted to Primary Children's hospital. What an emotional 3 days we had had and now it was getting worse. I thought we would never get home with our sweet little guy!! But what a blessing that he came to Primary's, he is doing better but still on the ventilator and feeding tubes. They are so great here and have better machines for his little lungs and he has been steadily improving over the last 5 days here.

NEXT STEP: removal of the ventilator!!! Before he starts breathing completely on his own he has to be put on a machine called a c-pap. It is the next step down from the ventilator and necessary for him to transition to breathing on his own. The docs tried to do this yesterday, but that little stinker fought the c-pap and wasn't getting the breaths and pressure he needed. That was a little discouraging....but they will try again tomorrow........that's where we are so far. But here are some pics of the newest member of the fam!!

This is the latest pic of Lincoln just taken yesterday......he has changed so much just in the last 8 days!! I cant imagine how much he will change just in the next month!!

We are so blessed to have such great family and friends who have really helped us out so much and have been so amazing with all the support. We really get so much strength from all of you, you have no idea. So many friends and family have shown so much love for us and Lincoln.....he's got a lot of people rooting for him!! Thank you!! thank you!!! We appreciate your thoughts and prayers so much.

look at this peeps!!! This is the little bambino's room.....let me just say that this room was completely white, a totally blank slate. So we are so excited to get this progress!! Not without some lessons learned and some serious frustration of course, never done bead-board before!


We still of course have to seal all the lines, sand and paint it a nice bright white.....but we are well on our way to move in actual furniture!!!


And hello Buddha belly!!! I am know 7 1/2 months pregs and I am starting to feel a little large.....and guess what......it gets worse?! YIKES!!


I understand all these pics are like so random...but our stupid camera broke and so when we got a replacement camera I wanted to take pics of everything?! So hope you like the spontaneity!!

Oh this is the box our new camera came in....yes small I understand.....but not to small for Zoe!! She kept moving around and rearranging herself to get comfy....just so you know it didn't work, not for long at least.




When Jake and his dadio did the chair rail for the babes room it was kind of loud, you know with the saw and nail gun. Zoe was beside herself scared, I mean come on we have no little guppies running around making noise so any loud noises freak her out, and this is her tried and true hiding spot.....no one can get her now....right...

ST. GEORGE RETREAT!!

Well we were able to get away for a couple of days to St. George with Jake's parents. We set up a place to stay (thanks again Frump!!) and they brought the fun!!! They brought their new four-wheelers and we road for two days at The Sand Hollow State Park. I know what you are thinking......at 6 1/2 months......crazy right!!?? Don't worry peeps there were sand dunes and it was a pretty smooth ride, I was impressed!!! So I took it pretty easy for sure!!! Here are some of the fun pics we got!!!


So are you kidding me.....it was so beautiful with all the red sand and water!!! I mean I am already a fan of St. George because of the warm weather and all the red rock and sand, so no convincing needed here!! One of my favorite places....strongly competing with Sedona, AZ

And of course here is Jake....he for sure isn't an exception to the kid rule......he let loose too!!

Hey Rozzie!!! Us girls didn't jump and weren't as crazy as the guys.....but then again I am preggers and Rozzie doesn't want to fall off.....which I don't blame her for!! Once again......awesome scenery!!


It is hard to tell in these pics but past those rocks Roz and Jeff are standing on there is like this intense drop off and the view was A-mazing!!!

It was a great weekend filled with much needed fun.....so thanks mom and frump for letting us borrow such a sweet place to stay and thanks to the Wittwers for providing the fun toys!! Love you all!!


BABY UPDATE: we currently are having some slight difficulty agreeing on a name for this little babe....so maybe by the time he is here we will have figured it out!!

Well we had our 3-D ultrasound and saw our sweet little boy.........yep that's right peeps, we are having a little dirt magnet!! Jake and I are so excited to know and now we can call the little tike "our boy" and not, "the baby!"

Next on the baby agenda: Names and gettin' that nursery looking cutesy!!

long time....

So sorry fellow bloggers, I have been mia for a while! But the last three months hasn't quite been what I imagined....I guess I was sporting some intense rose colored glasses about the 1st trimester of pregnancy!! All you mothers know what I mean, but there are a select few that didn't get sick the first 4 months, which I am very envious of!!

So that's my explanation....good news though I am now 19 weeks and the last 3 weeks have been puke and nausea free, HOORAY!!! And in a week we find out the sex of the little one!!

Well in other news....we have a new nephew, Aden! He is off course like 7 weeks right now.....but I have been on a blogging strike....so here he is with his big sis Lily.

ROOM FOR ONE MORE!!???

Well...............................SURPRISE!!!
.....my ego is prego, I'm preggs, preggers, there's a bun in the oven, we're expecting, however you want to put it, it is true!!! We are 12 weeks pregnant!!! YAY!!

We just had our first appointment and ultrasound, we got to see the little squirt and boy is he/she an active one......yikes for when there is limited space! I think Jake is secretly hoping for a boy, he likes the idea of the future little ones having an older brother, he grew up with 4 girls.......maybe that's why he is such a sweetie- Thank goodness for sisters!!
